New model years begin appearing at dealerships in the fall, usually begins around August or September of the previous year. Dealerships desperately want to get rid of their leftover models as soon as possible for the coming year. The discounts could skyrocket, and accept almost any reasonable deals that you offer them.
During the last few days of the month, the car dealers, consequently sales managers and salespeople are eager to meet their monthly targets and get an additional bonus. Otherwise, they have to pay a monthly fee on each car if it’s still on the lot. Be sure to take advantage of the internet, using Kelley Blue Book to check for the price before you go out and negotiate with the salesperson.
Additionally, there are many rebates still available on leftover models that go directly to the dealer. Make sure you don’t let the salesperson brings the rebate into the negotiations. You are entitled to that from the manufacturer, no matter what price you negotiate otherwise.
